wow, impressive...
Hey, here's $50, go walk around the US and take pictures of every street. Make sure you capture some boobies

It's a van with a 360-degree camera on the top.
And yes it is really cool, I went to find the hotel I will be staying in when I go to San Francisco in August, which was really neat and weird. :D

For the record, here's an article from today on the (
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/01/technology/01private.html?th&emc=th) privacy concerns of the Street View.
Personally, I think the (US) law is on the side that it isn't a privacy issue. If every individual photo is ok because it's taken from a publicly accessible area, then the collection should be too.

I had a Dutch friend that explained open windows.
In the culture of his family and city, they have their front windows curtains open almost all the time. This is to show their neighbors and fellow people that they are normal. People can see in and notice that you're normal. If you have your window curtains closed, it means you have something to hide.
I prefer to have my curtains closed, because I hate people nosing around in my business. Not that I have something to hide, but I just hate nosy people.

More like you've been wandering around nude and stealing glances at your neighbour masturbating.
Now who is the creepy one? :grr:

Are you sure he wasn't checking his inventory?

That is very, very cool. Those point-cloud-rendered buildings in the background are especially impressive, although I personally think they should increase the point density. With enough positive feedback, they might decide to budget for more scanners. Who knows? Maybe they'll eventually scan the entire globe in point cloud.
Anyway, 'virtual tours' like these tell nothing of what kinds of assholes you'll encounter at those picturesque locations.

I'm worried that googlers might be googling at my google.
