Hey Guys, I'm currently playing a FM called A_Dark_Secret ! Its a Thief FM I believe and im running it through FMSel. I have the Tfix Installed and everything seems to work fine inso far as the game is concerned. I find that the FM isn't all it could be.. Anyway. I get this annoying sound all the time is like a, Hmm how to type a sound ! Its like a bleeep bluuup sorta noise ! Is this just a bug of the FM or is this a recognized issue ? Its not serious but it is kinda distracting when your creeping through the dark trying to be stealthy and this is being heard ! :D

Welcome to the Thief-world, young Garrett!
Hmmm.... that FM does not come with custom sound, so this must be indeed a more general issue with the installation.
Where exactly do you get that sound?
Do you have any special mods installed (although I am not aware of any that come with updated sounds)?
Although this should not matter here:
be aware that you should install the lame-libraries (32bit) for FMSel, as outlined in DOC\FMSel.pdf.
(
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-libraries.php)
These are needed for a few missions using OGG sound files, but that should not be the issue with this mission.
Maybe try a few other missions and see if there is a pattern.

Ive a basic TG install after copying the files to the HD and then running the exe in compatability to get them to install . I think. Then running Tfix to get the game to run. Everything works a treat. T2 Sky, T2 Water, Better textures etc. Missions seem to be fine. Its just this one Mission . Its hardly noticeable except when im in the dark and sitting quietly. Then its apparent. Dont know how to record in game sound. Fraps perhaps ?

There is no need to run the exe in compatibility mode - or to do any other sort of manual adjustments.
In fact, I seem to recall there are even known issues doing so (scripts not working, or something like that).
Tfix does the job for you - including setting it to one core only and whatever else might be neccessary.
(I am running on Win7 64bit. No issues.)

Ive just returned to the level and have found that its the drunk guard thats causing the sound ! i think its supposed to be him hiccuping but its obviously not a real hiccup, more a digital 'place holder' using sound editing software maybe ? or is it just my mission is corrupt in some way ?
