I know they removed levitation, and I get why...but for the life of me I can't find slowfall in this game (have never seen a potion or spell or anything with it) and I can't imagine why they would have removed it - anyone know?

As far as I could tell in Morrowind, you only ever had to have a Slowfall of ONE to remove all fall damage from any source bar the useage of cheats (including the abuse of alchemy) or console to speed youself up enough. It's lack of existance is likely to make people have to pay attention to where they're jumping and leaping from, also a good way to keep players from going from place to place too fast if you put a steep hill or rockface that would kill them if they hopped off of.
Also, they could have been lazy. :)

No Slowfall. No Levitation. No Jump. No teleporting spells.
There's a lot of vertical space in the game, and being able to jump off cliffs 'n' stuff would probably mean the player would miss trigger points for various scripts, causing quests to break. That's my best guess.

I heard feather is akin to Slowfall. The higher feather, the less damage you take. But then, those aren't my words.

It might be that damage is scaled to how much of your maximum weight capacity you're loaded with. Speed seems to be, wouldn't suprise me if fall damage was too.

Slowfall would likely break one of the TG quests.

My biggest gripe in this area isn't that there's no slowfall, it's that the calculations for acrobatics are stupid. If you fall like, two feet more than your maximum jump height, no matter what your acrobatics, you take fall damage. It's like: ledge you have to jump to? see how it's a little bit lower than the area you're standing on? well, since you have to jump you will inevitably reach the heigh of your jump, then fall that extra distance, so prepare to take half of your life in fall damage.
Or worse, the higher your acrobatics the easier it is to maneuver in the air. This is actually bad, because I'll be running down a mountain (hill) side and because I can disobey gravity I'll just step out into thin air, then my acrobatics will carry me forward and I'll fall and take damage. No cliff, no jumping, just a gradual slope. And don't tell me "well you should be more careful about running," because it's really lame when I either have to slowly walk down a hill because I can't help myself from bounding into space, or everytime I step off the ground I have to wait until I fall to the ground a little but in front of me. It's stupid.

yeah you lose health but its not that bad to break the game...
its just a minor inconvenience, just have your healing spell ready...

I though it was semi-realistic......ever tried sprinting down a hill?
