The TTLG forums have been really slow for me for the last week or so, is anyone else experiencing the same? It has been somewhat tolerable until now, but today it seems that everything takes a really long time to open, and for example I just waited about five minutes for my post to appear after hitting the submit button. Not that I'm in a hurry, but I'd like to know if this problem is at my end only. :D

There have been some intermittent periods of slowness in the past week for me as well.

I've not noticed it being quite as slow as you mention recently but I may have just missed periods of heavy loads. If you spot it happening to the extent where it's taking minutes then drop me a PM and I can have a look next time I'm on.

Looks like the slowdowns tend to happen at this time of day.

Thanks, looks most likely to have been due to some excessive crawing from AI related agents. A basic block has been put in place that should hopefully help for the immediate problem.

Yeah, the morning hours and early afternoon (GMT) seems to be the worst time indeed. I tried to log in at around 11 today, but just loading the forum page took a very long time, so I gave up.

Whatever you did Al, it seems to have fixed the issue for now. It has been smooth sailing again on TTLG for the last three days. Thanks! :thumb:

We're back to the snail mode again. :erg: The forums have been super slow for the last few days, and sometimes I get timed out when I try to get my daily dose of TTLG. Currently there are 6133 "guests" browsing the forum, perhaps the bots have managed to find a way around the basic block?

I keep getting error code 503, when going for the community chat.
The main ttlg page does not show this problem, and some times going to other sections, such as gaming, seem to work.
And then link to community chat.

I've been manually turning on the block when needed rather than having it enabled at all times - trying to strike the balance between excessive traffic and adding an extra step for genuine members. This is a problem that looks to be a longer term change to the way that bots access the internet and may need to be automated.
In the meantime, if there are general problems then give me a shout by PM or the contact form - I'm still (mostly!) human and will look to sort it as soon as I can.
