When you click on a thread over 30-days old, (and try to post a reply,) you get a 'necromancy warning' what is this? Is it part of the rules of ttlg?

It's something that was added a while ago in order to alert people that the thread about the topic they searched for and decided to reply in might be hilariously old. It's not against the rules, it's just a nice heads up.

It should be said that generally it's bad forum etiquette to resurrect a very old thread without a very good reason ... because people may read the thread thinking that the topic is new, only to find out 3/4 of the way through that the topic is very old and they've wasted a lot of time reading the thread, since the conversation is no longer a live one and none of the original posters will be expecting a reply to their very old comments.
The only really good reason to do it (well, maybe not the only one, but a good rule of thumb) is if there's been some recent development which substantially contributes to the old topic, and for reasons of economy it's better to keep it in one thread than to make a new one. You shouldn't do it if it's just to add some (
