It's on my to-do list ;)
Seriously, Småland is way way down south. They don't even have midnight sun. Pfft!

That's all fine and well, as long as you're aware of the inherent risk of overdoing it, getting fall-on-your-face drunk, which will most certainly screw up your sleep for several nights. I have occasionally made this mistake, so I try to be more careful now of how much I consume. There's also the risk of alcoholism, of course, but I'm sure you're aware of that too, and I have no intention of lecturing you on that.
Yeah, I'm being careful about that. I think I'm still working the whole 'I'm legal to drink w00t!!!!' thing out of my system, I'll probably settle down after a while.

I'm just saying that drunken whiny rants always has potential for disaster.
Thank god there wasn't more brandy in the house, otherwise that could've very easily happened to this thread. :o

I'm currently on a rather small dose, only 5mg each night, since taking stronger doses tend to give me too bothersome side effects. After years and years of experience with different pills I'm now down to 5mg Zopiclon and 0.25ml of Alimemazin (40mg/ml), in a delicate balance of symptoms and side effects. I plan to eventually reduce these doses even further, if I can, with the help of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and physiotherapy (relaxation techniques).
I was taking methoprazine with the Zopiclone, but the sleep clinic doctor advised against it, since it lasts all day, so I went off it last night. Maybe I just slept like the dead because of how little sleep I got over the last two days, or maybe the Methoprazine was fucking me up, because I feel way better than I have in weeks today. :D We'll see which it was when I sleep tonight, methinks.

This is a tricky one. It's more an umbrella of several similar symptoms, than a specific diagnosis with a known cure. If you haven't read up on it already, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_Fatigue_Syndrome) WikiPedia has a few words about it. Of course, I haven't read the whole thing, since, well... for obvious reasons.
Seems they require a blood test for diagnosis. That idea's out. [/needphobic]

Canadians have accents, eh? :D
Well, their accents are the same as Americans, actually, except for on the east coast IIRC.

My dad has a similar machine, a (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-PAP) C-PAP. He has been
quite overweight, but has slimmed down a bit to just being outright fat. He says the machine helps him sleep a lot better, but it's a bit of a bother to not be able to sleep without it.
It would seem probable that my sleeping disorder would be the same as my dad's, but it isn't. I've been tested for that several times, last time a couple of weeks ago.
I'm actually in the same boat as you there; my father was one hell of a fat son of a bitch, and he had sleep apnea. But, I was breathing fine except for a couple times where I changed positions in my sleep, my breathing got shallow, and I shifted again, which I'm willing to bet was from the chest monitor. I wonder if there's some kind of connection between sleep apnea and insomniac kids . . .

You'll have to get over that real fast if you're ever planning a career as an insomniac :p
[Edit]
You may be onto something about the dads-with-apnea-and-children-with-sleeping-disorders-thingy. Someone should do some research on that.

Or if there is a mouse in the house.

Or, even, if there's naught about.

There will never be a mouse in my house! Leo and Addie would make short work of one if one ever dared to appear . . .

Word up fools
Back in the day I think I posed a question asking if sleep apnea could actually kill you
The general response was "yeah it's possible"
can you begin to imagine dreams that get so big they crush you
ask me about it sometimes, it is the most insane shit ever
Cookie Dough on 28/1/2007 at 09:35
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then yes I've had those quite a lot. They're horrible. They're worse than nightmares. They're way beyond nightmares.
I hope you'll find something that works for you, TNT.

Didn't we have a TTLG member actually die in his sleep? Someone from the DromEd crew? Or was that some other board.
paloalto on 28/1/2007 at 16:32
Yes sleep apnea can kill you.
