Napoleon allegedly only required four hours of sleep every night to function normally.
Yeah, but he was a half-pint.

I had another example involving a famous scientist and two hours, but sadly his name eludes me.

But the point was that they functioned normally, right?
Well, of course, when it comes to Napoleon, that's debatable...

I'm a nocturnal person myself, but not an insomniac. I've stayed awake for long periods of time before, it's utter hell, I can only imagine having to live like that.
By my own unscientific estimates I would say the bear minimum amount of sleep I require is about 4 hours. Then again, I'm only 21.
TNT or Gray wouldn't happen to live on Paper Street, do they?
Gray on 25/1/2007 at 20:10
If that's some sort of clever cultural reference, I don't get it. If it's an actual street named Paper Street, then no, I'm not even in a country which has English street names.

It falls under the former.
EDIT: A shitty start to page 2

Not that this would help any, but you never know...
Have you looked at your diet? Are there things you always eat, etc. that you could try removing? Have you tried going vegetarian?
That may not solve the problem, but heck, you never know. Diet seems to affect a ton of stuff.
(how's that for an uneducated suggestion...)
Gray on 25/1/2007 at 20:34
Oh, you mean Fight Club? Well, clearly, insomnia can make you go insane, but it can also make you think reeeeally sloooowly and not pick up on cultural references until much, much later. Clearly.
Diet has been discussed, yes, and somewhat changed, but not completely altered as of yet. Too tired to explain now. I'm off to bed.
And, apologies to TNT for hijacking your thread.

Just curious if anyone heard of the disorder that acutally killed people? I dont want to scare anyone, and you shouldnt be because there are only like 10 people in the entire world with it, it was a genetic disease that came on in the 40's in this 1 family that eventually got to the point where nothing could make you sleep and eventually was fatal, pretty fucked up.
Dont remember what its called and about to head out to work, maybe someone will link it for me.
If you had it you would already know because the only family with it ever has had it for many generations.
