When I started playing STALKER (I refuse to put the dots in - too anoying lol) I found my sky has gone really weird. I can't explain in techi terms but it the sky is just repeated stripes of the trees and floor and if i look up it changes or gets more stripes of trees.
This probably makes no sense as I can't really explain what it looks like but I don't have sky just endless trees. I know it looks like when your desktop freezes and you have a window up tht you drag around and it makes hundreds of copies of it over the old ones and they can cover the whole screen. Thats kind of what it looks like but with trees and it only happens in the sky area.
Any ideas for how I can stop this from happening as it makes me feeling quite ill and disorientated looking at it and I haven't even being able to play past the first level yet before I get too sick.

That sounds nasty. Graphic card drivers up to date? maybe try a clean install. Check over on the tech forum here too.

1) Remove all mods if you had any.
2) Try to change ingame graphics settings.
3) If nothing helps, as last resort try different videocard drivers (including older ones).

Sounds like the sky box is not being rendered, Resulting in a "hall of mirrors"
effect. (never seen this myself.)
I have seen random lines/triangles drawn to the "sky" when graphics settings conflict.
Try changing settings first, then mods, drivers, then reinstall.
And as always: Let us know how it goes so we can pass it on.

Yea, when I first installed stalker and loaded it up, I saw that the sky was pure yellow. At first I thought it was supposed to be that way (it did look kinda cool), but then I noticed some mirrors and such. All I had to do was update my drivers to the latest release. Luckily the problem went away.

I always get graphical artifacts after playing some time, when exiting a house or loading a new zone. only restart/reload solves those problems and I had them across numerous driver releases, stalker patches and mods. it's just a buggy engine :(
but the one of the best games and clear sky looks like it can beat it !
