I've been searching for a skeleton key. I know Gentlemen Jim Stacey has one, but I don't want to kill him or do the theives guild quests all over again (I did them on the XBox version.) I have the Morrowind Prophecies walkthrough... thing, and it told me four locations of other skeleton keys (listed below.) And for some reason, all the keys aren't skeleton keys. Instead they're all Rusty Keys. Yes, all. That's all four which are, pretty much, on opposite sides of the island.
It's very difficult to stay calm after you've been playing for about an hour only to find ANOTHER rusty key...
Does anyone know where you can find a skeleton key (checked locations are below, so don't tell me those.)?

First is in the Redoran Underworks.
Second in the Hlaalu Underworks.
Third in the undead dungeon Hanud.

If you're willing to use a walkthtrough to find an item you might aswell cheat to get it, saves alot of time.
Type: player->additem"skeleton_key"1
in the console.:eek:

Nah, I don't want to cheat at all with this char. I somehow managed to get two artifacts in my XBox game, but I can't now. Because I can't pick the locks with a grandmaster pick. Because my security skill isn't high enough. D*mn. Why didn't I think of that earlier?

:wot: I had no idea those rusty keys were important. I developed the habit of dropping keys when I had no use for them, and not finding any immediate use for the rusty ones I just dropped them too.

Sneeksie, I think the whole point is the rusty keys aren't important. They couldn't be equipped... And anyway, I've found loads of rusty keys. The ones I found where the skeleton keys should be are exactly the same and they can't all be secret skeleton keys (not like any are.)

Incidentally for tough locks I had an exquisite amulet enchanted with open 100 points on touch. Works like a charm, although it's just for once-a-day usage.

Ah... good idea... I can find a few ascended sleepers on my next outing, and I have around 180,000 gold on me. Great idea!

Glad I could help. I just used a common soulgem with a druegh, but a sleeper ought to give you more uses.
