Short answer: FL Studio.

Long Answer: FL Studio 5 Producer Edition + 4 * 3xOsc layered + WASP + Phadiz + some samples.

That was just a work-in-progress version, though. This place i live currently is totally unsuited for music writing because of crap acoustics, so it'll be a month till i move to my parents' for the summer, better acoustics there and it's possible to finish the mixing process.

And for any of you wanting a serious nostalgia kick, it doesn't get any better than the (http://208.49.149.120/files/jukebox/tnova/tnmidi.zip) original midi files that the TTLG (http://www.ttlg.com/other/jukebox/tn.htm) Jukebox makes available. You just have to fire up one of the 'drop' tunes to suddenly feel like you're falling towards one of those amazing landscapes again...

No luck with the techniques mentioned in the sticky thread? I don't really know the proportion of people that get the game going on XP, and I gather SP2 doesn't help with this either :/
