Hello, i am new to thief3 editing, i was wondering if there was a simple tutorial anywhere, a tutorial that teaches you stage by stage how to build a simple room with some stuff in it and maybe 2 or 3 objectives to complete. I did browse the wiki but all the information is divided into sections, and its not easy for a newbie like me.
thx in advance

I'm currently working on it and have added a bunch of pictures for even easier learning! I'll post an updated version probably tonight or tomorrow :)

That's awesome Komag. :) As if it wasn't a fantastic tutorial already, you make it even better.

I should have heared earlier of that tutorial. Perhaps there should be a link to it in the wiki. Would be useful 'cause most people look there first.

Okay, I've updated the tutorial with new version pre13! (same download link)
:D :thumb:
There are now screenshots and new "summaries" for roughly half the tutorial. I'm concentrating on the end parts right now, then I'll go through and finish up the rough sections, then I'll add screens and summaries for the remaining half, then I'll be DONE! Hopefully all within the next few weeks, we'll see

Hey there Komag,
I'm not sure why, but I can't open the new tutorial. What format was it saved in? I've been trying to open it in wordpad but I keep getting an error about conversion and not being able to display the graphics. Are you able to convert it to pdf as well? :)

It's a Microsoft Word doc, mine is version Microsoft Office Word 2003. I'm sure Wordpad wouldn't work, sorry. I can make a PDF and also I'll be putting it up soon as a webpage. Maybe tonight. Maybe I'll do that right now...
EDIT - Okay, the online version is there, but somewhat crappy (the html code is bloated like a month dead horse, the text lines wrap and resize with the browser window, plus other minor quibbles).

OpenOffice.org is able to read & write MS documents & it can export to pdf & it runs on Linux, Windows, Mac OS X etc.. It just reached version 2 not too long ago.

Excellent. I had been keeping an eye on the beta awhile back. I'll have to test it out. Thanks ascottk. :)
