Hmm i'm not sure it's the lighting being flat - more just the shadows have hard edges rather than nice soft shadows - or is that what you meant?
eg: (

Pc looks to have nicer textures though - or it could just be the resolution / video quality tricking me there.
How does xbox compare to ps2 though? Cos i read that fog was meant to be better (but i can't see any difference in any version for that unless i'm being thick) and sound/music timing iffy in the xbox. (See link in above post). But yer it's hard to know.

I like Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. She's got a great voice.
However: there was nothing wrong with much of SH2's voice acting so LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE YOU FUCKING DOUCHEBAGS.
I agree that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is great (she was very good as the Sho-sa in the English dub of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and GitS 2: Innocence), she just isn't Maria for me either. I too have replayed SH2 many, many times and have the vanilla voices ingrained in my head.

Contracts.
If it wasn't Konami's fault, then they could've just used the voice-recordings.

Censorship of Maria's outfit + uglified Angela (into looking like David Duchovny) aside, I'm very much liking what I'm seeing here. Will likely pick it up on sale next year.

Of course I would still much prefer if the OG versions of SH 2 + 3 were made available on GOG and/or Steam. That poop 2011 remaster collection is backward compatible on Xbox Series + One, but I'm not going to touch it with a 10' barge pole. Torrenting the old PC ports + running fan patches will likely remain the best playable option.
