H.R. Giger is involved with the production of Ridley Scott's Alien prequel(s). Good shit, man.

It probably has to do with Giger developing and using that alien style in straight-forwardly pornographic art. You can question what it means to be thought of like a stretched out cyberpenis, but when you look at his erotic art he's pretty clearly intending it to be eroticized.

Ridley saw one of Gigers paintings called Necronom IV or something like that. It was the same as the Alien from the movie except it had eyes. and its head was shaped like a penis. I'm pretty sure he had the same monster in other art of his where its tongue was a penis too.
I picked up a giger art book about 10 years ago because I was cuirous. Turns out it was basically all porn. They actually coined a section in his book "gigerotica"
