All this has no bearing on the fact however that Alien Resurrection is still an abomination and it's still worse than both AvP films combined. If only just slightly.

I agree. After Resurrection (& AVP) I don't see how another Alien film could get much worse. I swore after Aliens 3 that I absolutely would not go see another Aliens flic. I broke that vow by going to see Resurrection and have been sorry ever since. To make matters worse, I went ahead & watched AVP. I was depressed for days.
