Sigh... Cutscenes in Vista... - by catlord

I decided to install System Shock 2 on my laptop, running Vista, and after using the SSTool v2.6, it started running, however, the cutscenes aren't showing. I tried going and using the IV5PLAY, but that didn't work, and I tried running the LGVID.AX, and that didn't work, and I searched the forums for anybody else who had similar complaints, but they were all using XP, so I was wondering if anybody knew what's wrong and how to fix it? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Did you get the necessary codecs? I can see the cutscenes fine on my Vista PC.

Which ones? Aren't those the ones on the CD, and if not, where could I get them?

I am an administrator, and I tried that and I got an error...

The module "ir50_32.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x8000ffff.

As far as I understand it, being an administrator and running as Administrator are two different things in Vista :eww: .
The best solution is to upgrade to XP anyway.

Then how do I switch so I'm doing both? I'm new with Vista, I just got the new laptop about a month or two ago, so I don't know how to really do everything.

Right-click on a program and selet "Run as Administrator".
If you need any more than that, ask someone who actually uses the awful thing.

Now it's just not working... Mainly when a video is about to load, but sometimes it stops when the program starts...
