I've decided to try SS2 again, and am now pondering what mods to use.
My computer is rather old, and I know rebirth is out of the question, however, will SHTUP be OK to use?
Comp: 320MB RAM, 733 PIII, TNT1 16MB, XP SP2. I know the TNT is rather low on the memory size, is it enough to run SHTUP well? Also, is there a way of displaying a FPS counter in the game like other shooters?

I think there are est. system requirements listed somewhere for SHTUP, but I can't remember what or where they are to be found.
But out of curiosity, what are your system specs?

with that kind of a video card, i would have to say no. the textures are pretty highres, and that little TNT isn't going to be able to handle it.
why such an old PC? that thing's a dinosaur.

Ah yes, that video card ain't gonna cut it.
Hell, my old 256 Mb FX 5700 LE was busy. :p

that card's better than mine! :(

Yes, but it's not even close to be as fast as even the medium-spec ones today. So you don't have to spend a lot of money getting a good video card that is more than able to handle SHTUP and Rebirth. :)

Why ask us to speculate when you could just try it yourself and find out? The download's free, y'know.
Actually, I ran Rebirth on my old computer, a Celeron 300A (OC'd to 450MHz) with 128MB RAM and a TNT1. Worked fine as long as there weren't more than three or four AIs on the screen at once.

Is there a way of displaying the current FPS like in quake? From the console like the cheatcodes I'm guessing.

Not in game, but through the editor, though that probably won't be what you want.

I was going to suggest Fraps, but it doesn't seem to support SS2 when it comes to displaying framerate...
