His final bug-out.
Saw this on the news this morning (they interrupted Ed Bradley's funeral to mention it). Oddly, I recognized the name instantly, but according to imdb, I haven't seen any of his movies. So that leaves me with a  look.

I've been wanting to post this all morning, but couldn't come up with anything better than:
"If we could just get rid of these actors and directors, maybe we've got something here. " (from The Player)
Thanks for topping that, and taking the pressure off of me. ;)
Besides, a "R.I.P. Robert Altman" thread would have particularly irked me, since I love the guy. He's easily my favorite director, and M*A*S*H, The Player and especially Short Cuts all rank in my personal top ten movies.
Still think he got ripped off for Best Director in '93. Spielberg? Schindler's List? BAH!

Yeah, he's never really clicked with me, but then again I've only really seen Shortcuts and The Player and I'm not quite sure I was ready for either of those at the time.
As a kid, though, Popeye was the shit.

M*A*S*H & Short Cuts were both very good. I've never seen The Player. I'll have to look for it. Oh, and RIP Mr. Altman. :(

Loved M.A.S.H. Thought Popeye was shit. Haven't seen anything else by him. Is he black? time to let this go huh?

I've never seen anything of his other than The Gingerbread Man hilariously, and it was a terrible movie. I may check out "The Player" in memoriam as I've heard nothing but good things about that movie.
Not a MASH fan here. It's never clicked with me on any level and I've never tried to like it.

That's because you're a Goddamn ball-sitter.
M*A*S*H was awesome.

I've never seen an Altman movie. What I saw of the M*A*S*H tv show didn't seem that funny, but that had nothing to do with Altman.
I did just see "Thank You For Smoking" a few days ago. That was good.
At least he didn't direct anything that I know sucks for seeing it, which puts him above a lot of people. R.I.P
