As far as NOLF goes, after playing both games back to back (finally) I was stunned that it didn't capture peoples' imaginations as heartily as Saam thought it would.
Ditto. That made me wonder if some of the more recent stuff would survive in a forum setting. I think it was partly because there wasn't a solid LGS connection even though the gameplay was similiar.

All the radiators in vampire bloodline sit on the walls the wrong way round, it looks extremely odd, with the pipes that are supposed to be in the wall actually facing you. The game plays like dues ex, but the AI is slightly odd. The cops wander round with the guns in there hands, there is murder on the sidewalks and the police ignore it, you pick a door in the shadows and they shoot you in the back, even though you have maximum stealth, and level 1 power on to boost it and they still can see you.
The source engine doesn't support the type of lighting you get in the thief engine or unreal engine, for a stealth type game. And I don't think they understood the env_cubemap function in the source engine, as its obvious they didn't use it correctly. (it controls reflectivity in the world, eg cubemapped windows reflect the world surrounding, un cubemapped windows reflect the skybox.)

The "problem" with Bloodlines is that its still fun to play, even tho its absolutely stuffed with bugs. Well atleast in my opinion..

Coming back to this topic, there appears to be a concerted effort to turn General Gaming into an unofficial Vampire:Bloodlines forum. Not a day goes by without a new thread devoted to this game springing up, it seems. Is it too much to ask that people try and keep it all in one thread?

I think it is too much to ask to keep it all in one thread. Most of the time the threads have different purposes, a question versus easter eggs, and there are reviews and first thoughts. I don't think it's so much "trying to turn Gen Gaming into a Bloodlines Forum", but moreover that it's just a really popular game right now.
I still think it should have its own forum, with Wynne as Moderator, but I just live here...

What? On the front page, I only count four Bloodlines threads, in addition to four HL2 threads and 3 World of Warcraft threads. That's what happens in GenGaming when new and exciting games come out; they generate several threads.
It's not too much to ask; it's a silly (or stupid) thing to ask. People want to separate various things about the same game that they want to talk about. What's wrong with that?

That's four threads out of the top 12. Not one of which, btw, has more than 12 replies.
There are three HL2 threads, which is forgiveable, since the release of HL2 was a gaming event. And those three threads have 22, 24 and 312 replies each. There's also a single WoW thread, with 198 replies.
Okay, maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I just feel that some of those threads are, shall we say, "content-sparse", and if I was wearing my cynic's hat, I'd say that they were created merely to back up the pro-Bloodlines-forum argument.

(
http://www.chromethegame.com/) Chrome and Codename Outbreak are two of the most underated games i've played. Dialogue/plot may be poor in both but for gameplay I'd say they rank up there with DX and the rest. If you have enough patience.
Lack of support pretty much killed Outbreak and (
http://www.chromethegame.com/) Chrome is dying a slow death. For shame. Its horrible to see small studios produce something so good only to be quashed by the ignorant and meek.
