All these talks about the game being so irrationaly easy and all... I don't know... Personally I couldn't have finished the game at expert level. I tell you what. You buy the game, you go to menu. When you install the game, the difficulty level slider is in the middle by default. With the slider pulled full right, I don't think you should ever experience any problems with the game being too easy. ;)

It's not the easiness I'm worried about but just how the whole level-scaling thing ruins the leveling up part. Whats the point if everyone else levels up? I like that some areas are tough and when you come back after getting experience elsewhere you completely mow everyone down. Like in Fallout 2 I found some of New Reno very tough but I came back when I was almost at the end and it was fun squashing all those bastards who had given me strife earlier :ebil:
I think from what people have said about the mods though this has been fixed somewhat so I might pick it up. Oh yeah whats the plot like? I found Morrowinds very uninvolving.

Its been recommeded but just how well does it fix the level-scaling problem? I know it won't be 100% but how well would you guys say it does?

Well, like I said, Oblivion is flawed to the core. These mods essentially put restrictions on the level lists, and modify the loot tables so that they don't scale proportionally to your level (well, they do, but they're made to be less "noticeable"). You can still end up with an infinite number of items that were quite rare in Daggerfall and Morrowind, which really destroys one of the things the ES series had going for it.
Play once with OOO/Francesco's, and you likely won't complain. Play it again, and you'll likely complain.
If you're a fairly hardcore RPG guy, there are better RPGs. You might want to check out Neverwinter Nights and its sequel.

Your specs are great,
Off Topic: There was combat in morrowind?!? My sword hit, But nothing happend. Thank god for mods. By the way. Sorry i wasnt on, I got locked out of my account.
On Topic: You will have no trouble running or enjoying the beauty of oblivion. There is nothing better when you look at the water on sunset.
True. The AI is a bit broken in that way. They have jobs, Well... Kind of. It isnt bad compared to some other games
For me, The OOO Mod is a must! Not only does it put a "Bandage" over the leveling cap, But it add's and fixs prices of most junk items you find in houses.
PS: Sorry is i spelt Beauty wrong. Right now it doesnt look right.
Another ES Annoying Fan :D

I never finished Arcanum. My game exploded. Something happened and a guy (required for the main quest) wouldn't give me a quest. So I just stopped playing.
I really enjoyed the different party members you could get, though. Like that one half-Orc who could actually speak very eloquently in English, but pretended not to.

Get OOO. It adds a lot of nice new content in addition to making oblivion harder. You will discover that you can give yourself ridiculously high shielding using elemental shielding sigil stones. Dont. It makes the game too easy ;p.
