Or ten?

Got me a pair of gold dunks for $25 in NYC. I love them.
Buh. The rest of your day to day ensemble looks a bit like this doesn't it?

Yeah, I'm one of
those people.
Are they any good? They advertise them a bit as climbing shoes and sort of active things. I reckon that'd be weird. Likely to slide around too much without a decent 'frame' as it were. Where I think they'd be great is as casual things like Crocs, but maybe they're too expensive or seem too hard to put on or something.

I can't imagine wearing those shoes. I have a hard enough time with the feeling of something on my feet as it is- I pretty much take my shoes off at first polite opportunity.

I'm heard many people say that they take some breaking in and until you've done so, you'll get really bad blisters.
To add to what Muzman said - what's your experience? Are they really that comfortable over and above a normal running shoe?

Totally. Complete with the space-gay armband and the permanently sucked-in gut that makes me look like a mobile hernia. Quick with the witty comparisons for a guy who admits he wears climbing shoes in casual situations, aren't you.

Haha, and let us go to war over shoes.

It's 2010, Ulukai! Us liberated, empowered modern gents can have a bitchfight about shoes if we want.

The sensation of having something between my toes drives me fucking crazy.
It actually doesn't feel like getting your sock stuck between your toes or anything like that (which I agree is horrible). I was used to it by the end of the first day.

These are my every day shoes, largely because I hate the feeling of normal shoes. They're fantastic in a "basically the same as barefoot except you don't cut your feet on gravel" kind of way. And while they're definitely more expensive than Crocs, this model is only $90, which is pretty friggin' cheap for a specialty shoe.

Same here. These are as close to unshod as I can get when shoes are required.

I never got any blisters, and was comfortable in them within two days. This may be because I'm generally barefoot anyway. I'm not a runner, so I couldn't say how they work for that with any authority. I was sold on their flexibility and the freedom of toe movement. My #1 peeve with regular shoes is the cramped toe box, so these were kind of a natural fit for me.

If a friend of mine wore those shoes I'd comment that it was nice they let him keep souvenirs from the "Bad Romance" video shoot, and then he'd point toward my white shoes and ask if we were on track for December at the North Pole, and then we'd have gay sex.
