I don't have System Shock 2 to play with, so I don't know. citadell.bat gave me what looks like a console window, but nothing could be typed in it.
yes, thats all I have done so far.
I think the auto translation loading is done so far! I have no idea what to do with the F1-F12 keys, through the bug in shock2, as read on bedfellows. at least, there is something with the editboxes. they should be non editable, but its needed for the right colors, to make it editable! I will ask michael dunn again!

thx ZylonBane and Kolya for your contributions! :thumb:
I will add the F1-F12 Key Bindings, although Shock2 messes up the files, we will see.
The next Version will be the final one for xerxes. the last changes are:
:ebil: adding the F1-F12 Keybindings and the tabs.
:ebil: Color of the Titlebar.
:ebil: Color of the Dialogs.
:ebil: Color of the non editable ComboBoxes.
:ebil: OOP of the xerxes-files.
is this just complete?

:ebil: file.separator removed from Write's.
:ebil: setEditable(true) removed from ComboBoxes.
 wondering what setAttribute is used for in Xerxes's, the GUI is only set at the start of ShockCfg!

This project is a configuration modifier, right?
For System Shock 1, you can write a chunk of code that will copy all of the contents of the CD files, and place them into the correct locations on the hard drive which will allow the game to run without needing any of the files from CD, then rewrite cyb.cfg to load all files from the one place. If the game is already installed, then the configuration should already be complete, but I bet it wouldn't be hard to also display what options are selected, and let you change them as well. For some reason, the installer acts funny if you don't copy certain files, which the installer doesn't seem to do. Or it's not supposed to do. Or whatever. Let me know, and I will post a long, boring spec sheet of the config settings. The file locations should be self explanatory.

haha yes it is a configuration-file-modivier! :cheeky: citadell should be the same and not a no-cd-crack! but because of shock1 is abbandoned(what a word:rolleyes: ) it could be! you can post this specs, maybe I will come back to it later. but more I would apprecheate(hell another word:ebil: ) the specs of the cyb.cfg, specially for soundcards! :cheeky:
done:
:ebil: set-Methodes of XerxesMain.

What?
No matter. I'll have to do some fiddling with the config installer, and check each setting of cyb.cfg with each setting on the installer. I don't have a few things that the game is compatible with, mainly being some kind of VR headset, or a joystick, to compare the rest of the settings with. I'll post once I've dug out my old PC and hooked it up. I'll need to do this sometime before the end of the year.
System Shock 1 isn't that fun of a game to tweak configuration on though, because all the configurations can be done through the installer, except the "make this game work without the CD" option, which they forgot to add in. Conveniently. Well, anyways, I've created a batch file that sets the cdddir string to /data, so creating a gui for the only real usefully changeable option seems kind of silly. For now, until I get around to breaking out my DOS beast in my closet, you will have to settle with no-cd copying function. Which is simple.
Run the SShock installer as normal. This ensures that all files and copied and the game is installed.
Copy the contents of cd:\CDROM\DATA to SystemShockInstalledDir\Data, overwriting all the stuff there.
Copy cd:\cdrom\cdshock.exe (and/or sshock.exe, if you so feel enclined ;)) to SystemShockInstalledDir/Data
edit cdshock.bat or sshock.bat to point to the SystemShockInstalledDir\Data\cdshock.exe, or SystemShockInstalledDir\Data\sshock.exe, respectively.
Finally, edit cyb.cfg and look for a string called "cd_data_dir_path" and change the stuff on the right to "/data" and save.
Voila, System Shock 1 no cd and no fuss installation.
I have no idea how you are going to do all this, but good luck!
