Lucky you. I can turn on neither HDR nor Bloom with my videocard :(

I grabbed the expansion just the other day, and so far I'm finding it to be much cooler than vanilla Oblivion. It has a very distinct Morrowindish vibe. Sorta fantasy, but with a much broader, more alien feel to it.
It could just be that new-car smell, but so far this is my favorite thing I've played in the TES universe. I really hope in the future they give us some more access to the various daedra realms. Dagon's and Sheogorath's have both been pretty neat.

o_O You can't even turn on bloom? And I thought I had it bad. My computer just won't let me touch HDR. Or good framerates...
Although the Streamline mod has helped. (

Found it at random on planetelderscrolls. Flushes all the excess objects and whatnot often, greatly reducing lag and stutter. The only bad side effect I've noticed (And haven't noticed often) is that once in awhile it will cut off the sound file for an NPC in mid speech. It's only happened once or twice for me. People seem to get vastly different results...

I can turn it on, but it affects my framerates on my 6600GT 128mb. I have a new card though waiting for a mobo to sit in, a Radeon X800 XL 256 bit, 512mb. I can't wait to see how Oblivion plays on that!

Well, by "I can't" I actually meant the same. The game slows down a lot with HDR or Bloom on, and when you play for hours it can get slightly irritative :) I also have 6600GT 128 mb. Though I must admit that Shivering Isles area loads much faster. I think some things have been optimized since Oblivion release and were objectified in Shivering Isles release. Areas in SI loads almost instantly when in Oblivion I need to wait for a few minutes sometimes :(

Insert smug 7900GT comment here.

There's a new tweaking mod called "Streamline" that might help you - it tends to make the game run much more smoothly. :) (
