TNT : Shame on you :p
:D Aw, come on, there's nothing quite like the thrill of having a wide range of tools you can use to execute those who piss you off.

In any case, playing with cheats active is a good idea, because the "anti-stack" that is implemented once bugged & robbed me of just about all my equipment & ammo :weird: Even though I don't use the stack bug :weird: I fixed it through summoning afterwards, but it was a bit of a pain.
Bloody hell. Did you contact the maker of the mod about that? It sounds like he should know . . . :erm:

Maybe, but I only ever use the GEP gun for opening doors myself, and I find that a good pistol or crossbow can usually obviate the need for automatic weapons if you're careful...
Then again, I didn't find out about the stacking glitch in time for my most recent run through the game. Had I known about it, I would have always used it--and next time I play Deus Ex, I'll use it if I can figure out how to do it. :laff:

Yes, sent him the savegame and he had a look at it.
Hopefully he's figured out what was wrong.
Here's where your weapons are Livo :
Blackjack : Ton Hotel, near the key rack behind the counter. ILAW : Ruins of MJ12 sewer lab, among the rubble blocking the access the where Ford Schick was. Both are when you meet Dowd.
Nothing like a good skull-gun though :cheeky:

Livo : Throwing Melee weapons is done with the new binding Alternate Fire. It's pretty worthless actually.
Hey now! Since all the weapons (other than combat knives) don't dissapear after being thrown, it turns them into infinite use death machines (hah! I throw my crowbar at you... now baton... now sword! *collect weapons* You there! Hah I throw my.... etc) Or if nothing else, good for when you don't want to waste ammo. Plus I don't imagine they set off the gunfire sensors... and Low Tech isn't that hard to master.... Silent DEATH!.... yeah
TheNightTerror on 27/1/2006 at 03:16
 Okay, now I'm a bit bothered by this mod. I really should change the 'fix' for the weapons being removed when you arrive at the MJ12 facility, because it's very broken right now and severely spoiling the gameplay. I arrived, and maybe 10 of my things were removed. Now, on very rare occasions, I've stacked so many things in my inventory that the armory simply doesn't have room to store it all, and I get a few leftovers, but there's no way I should've lost only 10 items. The armory must have plenty of room for everything else.
I'm thinking the stacking items inventory bug fix forcing me to enable cheats might be effecting this, so I might as well knock that out too. Where should I start? Which files might contain the fix?
*comes crawling back*
[hippie mode]And how about the dogs? Can I swap the dogs with another enemy, or remove them? :( I love them, and I can't stand killing them. :([/hippie mode]
BlackCapedManX on 27/1/2006 at 21:01
You could potentially remove all the attack dogs with the editor, I don't think it would significantly alter the game (off hand I can only remember them at the NSF generator anyway).

Well, due to the crap damage when thrown, you're going to have to throw 3 or 4 weapons at the enemy which means they will shout for alarm the first time you hit them. Plus it will be a lethal takedown, which means they will shout in agony when they die. Silent death? Not quite. However if you find the Toxin Blade, that one is special. It's lethal, like the knife, but silent, like the baton. It's still crap damage when thrown, but it's nice for backstabbing. Also, if you fail to backstab, it will sometimes stun like the prod would. I still don't bother with it though, I prefer the Blackjack. If I really want them to die I can always DTS their body until it gibs, once they are uncounscious.
:ebil: :ebil:
TNT: that's what you get for wanting to exploit the stacking bug :p
If you still have a save from before the capture, you could try cutting down your inv to normal size, disabling cheats, then getting captured. All your stuff should go to the armory as normal. After that you could always re-enable cheats and start stacking again you want. It's not like it takes ages to find every weapon again. Anyway the armory is pretty much right next to the prison, so it doesn't really change much if you get to keep some stuff after your capture.
Hippie TNT : Use Tranquiliser Darts to alleviate guilt.
Or use the editor to replace all dogs with Giant Karkians.
BlackCapedManX on 27/1/2006 at 23:27
Okay fine so throwing weapons is (mostly) useless. I still think it's cool. That's what made me fall in love with DX to begin with, all of the pointless stuff they actually allowed you to do. Though to be fair, throwing a crowbar at someone would be kinda dumb...

There's a few other places as well. I don't want to miss out on some killing opportunities, so I should replace them. I never touched the editor, so that could be tricky . . .
But the Shifter mod seemed to have new item replacements without editing any maps, is there a chance I could remove information for the hostile dogs from one file?

I know that trick; but the thing is, I still should be stripped of a lot of stuff, normally, even if I have a lot of stuff stacked. It's completely bizarre that only 5 inventory slots were emptied. Maybe the Shifter mod added so much stuff that I just had more than I thought?

The only potential problem I can see is the enemies potentially being hostile to them. Everyone from the
NSF to
MJ12 uses dogs, so I'll have to go in and tinker somewhere to make sure they're set to be on the team of whoever they're patrolling with.

Actually throwing weapons are great since he combined combat strength/microfibial muscles, so just turn it on and aim your throwing weapons at the head for instant kill, or throw objects at heads for instant knock out!
Combat knives do disappear BTW, so pack half a dozen.
