Woah, that brought back some memories! I used to do a lot of camping/touring in the Kalahari when I lived in Gaborone, mainly near this place: (Khutse game reserve):

They didn't even eat it either, obviously my mum's cooking just can't compete with the delights of 3 day old sun-bleached decayed impala carrion! Looks like you had an awesome time Shayde, VERY envious now :D

I knew it! I knew with a name like Naartjie you had to be one of ours.

Well I never actually lived in SA, but went over the border from Botswana a lot. We sometimes used to do long weekends as a family at Pilannesberg with visits to Sun City (!!!), or to Tau Game Reserve (you could get back to Gaborone in a few hours after a day spent gamedriving there). Other than that I've been to Jo'burg (at least the airport arrivals terminal. From which point we made a hasty exit from the city), Cape Town and Noordhoek, and also Kimberly and Pietermaritzburg. Growing up in Africa is just the shit, I'd recommend it to anyone :D
