As much as I hate Idol shows and I hate them with the same passion I reserve for all things which waste space better taken by a good movie or book or the worst sex of your life or even aimless card stacking I wish you luck.
If there were a god of music then perhaps it would even see fit to replace Amy Winehouse and Fergie and any number of incessant rumpy tump tunes outgrown in kindergarten with more the more substantial sort you favor but I'm not holding my breath.
Perhaps you should show some leg.

I could not agree with you more. I confess to never seeing American Idol or any of the "reality" shows, except in passing to another channel.
I had no wish to get into this one. But after seeing 25 others who were at the "pre" performance, get passed over for me (out of 31 about 6 were chosen), I can't just not continue. They would send a team of hitmen after me.
If I flunk out on my own, they can say "I would have been a better choice than that old fart." but can't hit on me for "winning" the hand and then quitting. :)

The saga continues:
Got a call from Casting. I move to the auditions part deux this saturday in Burbank, CA.
Starts at 10, so it's a 5am up and on the road gig. May not make it to part three, but it's going to be fun.
I might get to be one of the "never made its" on the preview shows on NBC.
Not that it's all that big a deal for all here, it will be interesting to some few of my acquaintances.
Keep an eye out here to see "the biggest fool that ever hit the big time"... :p

Is someone gonna be able to post a vid, if they show him?
I read your blog today, theBlackman, and was going to wait another day to wish you a grand time.:thumb:

OK. Yesterday, Sat. March 8, some 4000 participants, including yours truly, went through the second phase. Of those some 300 were called back today Sun. March 9, including yours truly, for the final phase of auditions for the final selections of people from this regional (they held 8 nationals and are just now starting the reginals from which the final contestants will be picked), for the show.
I was supposed to audition at 1 pm. They ran late, and I finally got in about 5:30pm. Word is we (all the call-back performers), will get a call by the end of the month as to whether we are to come to Nashville or no.
My audition was pretty good, but I doubt you'll see me in Nashville, although you may find me in the first couple of "Preview" editions before the big one.
But make it or no, it was a hell of a lot of fun. Met quite a few old friends, made some new ones and saw some superb singers and musicians.
I'll let you know what happens. :D

Nashville..is this the home of the fabled Grand Ole Opry?
 I hope it happens for you then.

Damn. The wife and I are going to be in Nashville next week. It would have been fortuitous to meet up and see you play had the timing been right. Ah well, we are often rowdy and embarressing anyway.
