[Gregorius] Nice find for thiefmissions.com/mission.desc however not all the files have ratings. While it would be perhaps a nice idea to have the material downloaded, if most FM's are not rated then this is kinda pointless. So here is my solution, it will be looked at in greater detail after the initial release. :thumb:
As for ratings higher than 10 you can write anything you want there e.g. up to 99, since it is your personal rating it makes no difference.
[SneaksieDave] Indeed, the current setup is for local ratings. I would however like to supply a format which can provide greater benefits over simple text, with RTF you can create black backgrounds, use thief fonts and include pictures. For the moment it seems a safer option than the alternative of HTML and I don't really want to go and study a whole new concept of structured text for what is a relatively simple application.
[OrbWeaver] Well considering the dispute upon this I might conduct a poll to find out the preferred format and go with that.
[Renzatic] I agree that this discussion on TDM is not really necessary here, for the moment at least Shadow remains a TDS FM loader only.
[dracflamloc] The format for Shadow has been decided, it is located on page 3 in a code section. I also checked out your preview and it seems good. :thumb:

Unfortunately I am going to stop work on Shadow simply because it is to much of a hassle. I set out to create a small application to help the community and all I receive is complaints about:
1. My choice of development platform (so many seem to hate .NET, without having many genuine reasons for hating it.)
2. My Briefing setup, and a battle for TXT vs RTF vs HTML vs Others
3. The type of archives I use 7Zip vs Zip vs Rar
Now that a simple C++ loader is underway by DracFlamloc I have decided to stop work on this simply because I don't feel especially after the comments made that anyone would use it. :nono:
Since this project started the community has never been in agreement about even the smallest of things for Shadow. As such I hope you have better luck DracFlamLoc as I for one will not be dipping my toes into producing something for community for some time!

Hrm, not sure why you'd quit doing something you were obviously enjoying doing. Just because a few expressed not having/wanting .NET doesn't mean no one would use it - there is plenty of support in your thread. All I'm saying is, there's no reason there couldn't be more than one. Variety, life, spice, you know how it goes.
Heck I might not use any of 'em - I might just make my own. It's a simple enough task, and I wouldn't have to trust/count on someone else's programming. Plus, there's also the possibility that it might come down to placing an IBT and a gamesys. No loader needed at all. Still, if you were having fun, no reason you should quit. Just my opinion.
