Watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles pilot yesterday reminded me of this thread. Most of that has to do with this really weird relationship thing they seem to developing between John Connor and his robot protector. :eww:
DERAIL:
Overall, I can't say I was impressed with the series as a whole. Chances are that I'll end up watching a few more episodes, mostly because I'm a Terminator fan and I like to complain, but it's pretty obvious that the series is being raped before it's left to die in the gutter. As cool as it was to hear that the 4th movie would be set during the "future wars" and would possibly have Christian Bale as John Connor, I really don't see any chance of the movie being any good after hearing who the director was for this installment.

I think they missed out by not asking the whole "Is it wrong to have sex with my really butch father figure even though he's a robot with all the emotive capability of a brick?" question. After all, not many programs on prime-time TV explore the questions of gay paternal incest. Psyche out!
Also, people will have sex with robots because they can.
Hell, Isaac Asimov wrote about this stuff decades ago, and Arthur C. Clarke had a go at it in the latter half of the Rama series too, just to name a couple of forward-thinking authors.

People already have sex with robots. Its just that the robots don't think for themselves like people imagine they would.

Now get back to the bunker, Sergeant Ducky is getting antsy.

Great ! Now I can be shot-down by a machine. And it'll probably be programmed not to, which makes it all the more humiliating.

Hmm, I wonder if this is how you turn off Skynet?

Interesting -- three pages down and no one mentioned it (plus, I didn't remember it earlier):
(
http://sexylosers.com/199.html) Sexy Losers handled that topic quite well already. (Warning, may be not safe for every place or person ;) )
The 'Scientific' line has some more comics about that matter...
