Come now. You may love cats, heck I love all animals (ALL!!), but this is just dumb. The vet business is getting crazy insofar as people moan about money being spent on x,y and z and Ohhh the NHS in the UK is collapsing and then there is stuff like this.
How much do those prosthetics cost? Seriously. There is hip replacement for an old lady in there! Reminds me of one of the dumbest, and most cruel waste of cash I ever saw - some volunteer vets who set up shop in the African savanna. I kid you not, these guys were treating dogs and monkeys brought to them by innocent kids who had the big bellies of Kwashiorkor!!
Gaaaah! SOLIENT GREEN (your money) IS PEOPLE (is being wasted on pets you 'tards).
Just how we'd divert the money to better causes I don't know, but it just. makes. me .sick.
rant over

Well, did the cat's owner pay for those operations? If he or she did, then there's no problem. People spent cash on way stupider things. Now, if it was the society which gave the cash for the operation...well, that's just fucking stupid.

I disagree completely. It doesn't matter if it's a pet or an inanimate object, such as a baseball card collection. Once someone puts his/her love into something, it becomes a part of that person, no matter how insignificant it may seem to someone else. It may seem retarded to you, but the fact of the matter is that these vets are in business because there is a legitimate demand for them.

Well....She must love her cat. Sure, I know it's sad to lose a pet, but pay all that money to make it Iron Cat? Either they are very rich or very stupid. Or perhaps both

If they have the money, they will spend it on their animal if they love them. People will do just that. To go to extremes I disagree with, my stance is, will it enhance their quality of life. Or just make the owner feel better.
I've spent money on my animals for sure, but, I know when to call it quits. You don't see the average person in the paper doing his regular thing do we? Not really. Its these kinds of people, that spend an absorbent amount that catches the paper.
Which is not common.

See now your diseased kitties are very cute (Are they big now?) but I just couldn't spend the money on them. I want to get some dogs, and I know I'll love them but I'm not spending money on this kind of stuff on principle, sad as it would make me to have to put them down. I used to have 2 cats. But that's another story.

Well, certainly most of us had moments in our lives where we had to prioritize between money and something else. Once again, this boils down to personal choices. Some people choose to look after their animal friends because they made a commitment to ensure the well being of those in their care, while some people choose otherwise.

I fail to see why you have a problem with this.

Subject, diseased cat only for a short time, you don't treat the cat. It only lasts in the kittens a few weeks, thats it, then they are fine. Yes, he is getting big, cute, and adorable.
And yes I did have cat scratch, and I don't have to worry about getting it again. :P We won't rehash that.
But he is neutered, and does have shots, like any responsible normal pet owner should do, cat or dog. Take care of their animals.
/me sounds like Bob Barker, "have your pet spayed and neutered."
