Yeah. Couldn't remember word for word, but I was pretty disappointed anyway. I agree with Agent M. about revealing Book's past after the fact.

I'm really confused. Either I've misunderstood or I've been severely misunderstood (kinda feel like I'm arguing with my wife here). For the record, I thought Serenity was fantastic, full stop. When I saw it, I had never even heard of Firefly. After finding out there was TV show I immediately went out and bought the DVD set. Absolutely loved it. In my previous post I was mainly responding to
Quote:
Fighting the system. But none of this was in Serenity
and was like, so Wash and Book died and everyone else was pretty well bloodied doing what? Sticking it to the Alliance and Parliament! That's not fighting the system? OK, I give, you guys win.
And Dia, it's nice to see that you've gotten over that ellipsis-stream-of-conscience thing. ;)

l know! how could whedon.... do what he did?! dammit!
still, it showed real guts on whedon's part, as well as almost uncanny instinct for drama- we had no clue who was going to survive the last battle. cranked the tension up to 11 and then some for me. just masterfully done. makes continuing the story a little difficult though. l mean, now that they don't have... after what happened to....
*sobs unrestrainedly over his loss*

Bad habits die hard, Jack. I'm working on it. :cheeky:

I said it kind of weird. The "fighting the system" part was not a part of my argument. That was just a little joke/gimmick/reference to what I said, hence the :D . Sorry about that. Yes the entire point of Serenity was fighting the system (system being the Alliance).

I've only seen one episode of Firefly. It seemed like a cool show, I liked what little I saw, and though I intended on watching more it always managed to slip by me every weekend.
Tonight I decided to change that. I found the boxset on sale for the low low price of $19.99 and figured it'd be worth picking up. Considering that everyone that's followed the series from beginning to end considers it the best thing since some loose chick invented oral sex, I figured I couldn't go wrong. And on the off chance I end up hating it...well...it'll look good on my shelf.
I also picked up Serenity. Might as well go for broke.

The cast is signed up to do two more movies, which makes me kinda wonder how Whedon's gonna handle (or mishandle) that.
I don't believe they are, my dear. I've not heard this from any reputable source and no Internet fanboys don't count no matter how many aspire to be Harry Knowles. And he doesn't count either.

I'll have to go back & watch the special features for the Firefly series, but I thought a couple of the cast had mentioned that they'd already signed on to do two more movies after Serenity. I could be mistaken & it could be just wishful thinking, though.

no, they are signed for 3 movies, including.. well, you know who *sniffle*. these contracts aren't mutually binding, unfortunately; the studio isn't under any obligation to actually make any sequels.

Where'd you hear/see that, oudeis? We need a reputable source. Agent M. won't believe us otherwise & I'm at work so can't check out spec. features on the discs.
