I'm not sure if this is the best thread to post it in, but I do have some advice about mercantile. As RyushiBlade, after level 20 or so you never are really short of money. I buy very little, mostly only strong health potions and repair hammers, occasionaly arrows.
But--I do have a fairly good organizational system that works well for levels 5ish-20 (and beyond). I put items I intend to sell (though never really do, so it becomes the chest of items I would sell if I ever needed money) into one chest in my Imperial City house and items I might use at a later date in a different chest (though I rarely come back and pick them up).
For me, it helped a good bit while my level was in the teens.
