Seeking in-game conversations... - by jtr7

I think what (
http://board.ttlg.de/thread.php?postid=85932#post85932) Stoker made could be of interest to you; for our T3 synchronization aims he picked the csc files apart and listed all voice files (including conversations), sorted by voice actor and conversation. Try Opera for the xhtml files, if nothing else can open them.

Thanks again!

Formatting breaks nothing.
Formatting does not repair scratched CDs. My problem is not the hard drive.:weird:

So, there's the entire episode in youtube, starting from the Inn map, to the last, follow all the episodes, and, with paper, pencil and a bit of patience, take note of any conversations present.
Are all conversations that can be triggered by the player's actions accounted for that way? Are all conversations on all difficulty levels shown? If so, then it's worth the trouble. Thanks for trying to help.

Beleg (and Stoker!):
That's pretty cool! Since it was derived from the *.csc files, is it "safe" to assume these are only the files heard in-game? If so, then please tell Stoker I'm very happy this was made as it will serve my purposes, as well as just being a nice TDS speech browser tool. I now have a decent checklist to determine what was not used.:thumb:
Interesting. All of the sound files for The Eye and The Heart are included, does this mean then, that they all can be heard in-game? That would be cool to know!
Hahaha! Now how did I end up being mentioned in there? :p

Well, there are not many with such a passion for snippets, but I think I haven't seen you yet.
These should be all sounds and conversations. The Heart for instance doesn't appear in the Museum AFAIK, but I heard it the first time in Tiens' Oldstone Castle FM. If I find the time I'll investigate the scripts and see if I can make sense of it.
PS1: Is there no DVD version of TDS in the US?
PS2: Why don't you buy a new one? :p

I'm listed under the "res0" page:
Heh heh.
PS1: Is there no DVD version of TDS in the US?
Nope. Three CDs or a single online download file.
PS2: Why don't you buy a new one? :p
I purchased the downloadable version so I wouldn't have to wait. Now I have to apply all the fixes I had to before. Once I get it working okay--as far as I can tell--I will attempt to install T3Ed. I swear the instructions are different than I remember.
Whenever you can take the time to look into the scripts, Beleg, it would be much appreciated. Even if all you can do is tell me how I might do it myself, pretending I have T3Ed up and running.:thumb:

Sorry, I just noticed this under "res5", in the "~HAMMERITEN~" sub-section:
"Prithee"
This is not a name, but rather, a slangy contraction of "I pray thee...";)

I just asked Stoker to fish for this particular line and it's indeed the original translators fault. OK, I guess I wouldn't have known about this either, but all the German translations are taken from the schema files.
jtr7 on 30/10/2008 at 23:37
Not to worry. It's confused a lot of people. Completely understandable. Not to mention, I went through my copies of the 16000 schemas and fixed hundreds of typos, missed quite a few, too, but corrected every one I noticed. Mind you, these are my own copies, which are stripped of the editor/engine code, leaving only the quotes and filenames. I haven't touched the game folders. I found that a great number of the schema/subtitles vary from the actual voice actors' line-readings. The gist is the same, but the emphases, and some of the wording is different. I began to correct the variations, comparing them directly to the sound files, to make them accurate and better represent what is heard in-game, but it's a huge task for something relatively minor, so it's not a priority.

All right, taffers, I have T3Ed up and running, so it would seem.:)
I'm looking at the Trigger Scripts browser. Now I begin to learn how to seek, find, and sort through it all.

Great! :thumb: Although I've not very well understood what you're trying to do.. :laff:
