This was stated outright in The Terminator. The resistance had destroyed Skynet's central core and the war was over.
ar yes. There's quite a bit of detail in the first one I tend to forget.
Anyway, have you bums finished watching it yet? Does the end qualify as a cliff hanger or not? There's a certain kind of character that's hard to put in peril that way. The way it raced to a conclusion I suspect is a lot of stuff being left either unproduced or on the cutting room floor (9 eps is such a weird number for something not outright cancelled). There's a few threads there I'd like to see more of. The Adventures of John Connor, Highschool Boy Genius Detective and his sister/muscle/she who slams people into drywall did actually seem like it would be fun at the time, despite being rather un-Terminator. But hey you're making a TV show, why not go for it. Can't endlessly quote or homage the films after all.
In other news; The concepts and titles of Jake 2.0, John Doe and Kyle XY always get mixed up in my head for some reason. And they're not all that similar. Why is this?
(I've just watched Heroes through for the first time. Ha. That kinda belongs here really, despite its flash and cash and thread of its own. Gay John showing up was funny too.)

Hollywood writers' strike?
Lots of series have been cut short because of that recently, e.g. House, Prison Break, etc.

I guess it's probably a factor. But they started shooting the show nearly a year and half ago. You'd think they could have squeezed another episode or two in during that time. No doubt the machinations are complex (yes, I just said Terminator had complex machinations). It would appear to be a lot further down the list of Fox priorities than, say, House (which isn't surprising I guess).

The producer on Connor Chronicles stated that production on the show was done by a skeleton crew, during the strike. Fox went ahead without him and the others, who were on strike.
So considering that the show was completed, and even ended up being half-decent, when the producer wasn't around to have a say in how the final cuts of the episodes turned out: you can't be too hard on the show.

Well lets hope their even better when he is around

Firefly really doesn't belong in a thread with second-rate in the title. Oh how I hated inserting the last dvd knowing it would soon be over. Battlestar is an extremily slick production but Firefly is a work of love.

I figured I'd give this thread a bump since the (
http://rss.warnerbros.com/terminatorsalvation/) teaser trailer for Terminator Salvation was recently released. Ultimately, from what little there is, it looks decent. Christian Bale as a post-apocalyptic John Connor is just awesome. Too bad the actual movie will most likely suck ass. It is good to hear that music again, though.

Now read what McG has to say about the T-600 appearing in T4:
"We've started shooting the T-600 - the bigger, grimier, nastier version that preceded the T-800."
Like Reese says, they're easier to spot but they pack a mini gun and carry kick ass fire power. They're eight-foot tall killers that prowl the badlands looking for anything with a heartbeat to terminate.
What . . . the . . . fuck?
While it is worded in an extremely retarded way, it isn't an inaccurate description of the Terminator played by Franco Columbu in the first movie. Yes, it was established from the very start that not all Terminators look like Arnold.

Soon as saw the battle in the forest and sewer in the trailer, I was like meh.
The_Raven on 20/7/2008 at 04:52
Yeah, didn't really fit in with the whole post-apocalyptic future setting. Then again, neither did the paratrooper.

Well it could make sense if it happens just after Judgment Day I guess. Not all the forests and military personel will be wiped out in the first 24 hours...
Not to say I'm impressed. The teaser ain't that hot, for me it's a bit of a War of the Worlds déjà-vu. Probably the full-length trailer will be more interesting, but I'm not holding my breath.
