The official word is that they're combining the second and third Russian developer internal patches into one large patch for everybody and it'll be out at the end of this week/next week.

Slaps hand to forehead.
Thanks Jonesy.

Sick. So the second and third patches are being combined into one? Love to get that patch asap.

Only THEN the real Stalker game begins. :cheeky:

Yeah, I also heard the delay was due to those incriminated textures that the devs have to replace.
I'm confident they will do a good job. 6 years to release a game, then once the game is released it conquers 90% of customers even if there are some major bugs (I'm playing with a graphic bug that forces me to reload the game every 15 minutes but I love it nonetheless).
No doubt those 6 years boosted their marketing campaign and with the sales going well (it seems) they are more than eager to set their baby right. I think this is the reason why they announced the list of fixes for the second and then for the third patch even if the second hasn't been released. It's like, "sh*t we have to solve those problems pronto and there's no time for setting the gameplay right... the geeks will be furious. So let's them know what awaits them in the third patch. Hopefully that will shut their mouths up."
By the way, I met Wolf yersterday. He was sitting at a campfire in the Warehouses area. I can't believe he made all that long way without being ripped to pieces by pseudodogs (I love those bastards) or dying in an anomaly. Actually, once I left him at the campfire pursuing my own business, I heard gun fire behind me... when I got back he was dead, eaten by pseudodogs :(
Those damn NPCs don't wander the zone. They are spawned at prescripted areas once you enter the zone. A fake.

I've been through Yantar psi facility yeaterday, damn what a creepy experience.
As my eyesight was slowly getting monochromatic, all noises were fading away as the mindwashing whispers were struggling to take control of my head, I almost felt how I am "zombifying". I also nearly runned out of ammo in that facility. On my way back through the tunnel I had to rely on common pistols and ammo I found on undead grunts. But I managed to take down that big fatso beast (what is it's name again) only with Desert Eagle (whatever it's alternate name is) and after he went down, I had just one .45 round left! Now I learned to appreciate backup handguns.
So many kinds of armor in the game, I can't decide which one I should prefer. The Eco suit is useful certain environmental situations, but damn, a paramilitary stalker can't walk around the Zone in flash orange jumpsuit!

Just like me... I can't decide which among SEVA suit, an Exo or the Armoured suit used by the CON UA. Just like with the weapons... as a main weapon I'd like a TS34 or a Tunder, the first is one is more accurate, the second more powerful but has less rounds. Keeping them both means to much weight (different ammo included) as I like to go around with a nice sniper rifle with a different choice of bullets and a modified desert eagle that uses rifle slugs :)
And then I have to leave 15-20 kg for artifacts and unique weapons for sale.

They bought said textures from a third party that also supplied them to Valve for HL2. There was no theft of assets.

there's nothing wrong with being disappointed. but i wouldn't go so far as to say it's "not finished"- that's kind of an elitist attitude, and that doesn't belong here in TTLG :sly:
Ok.. maybe saying "its not finished" was incorrect, and I didn't intend it to appear elitist. My apologies.

If you have the money (96000 I think), go for the upgraded green scientist suit. It may not look so nice as the SEVA but it's two kilos lighter and has a bit better stats :thumb:. You can buy it from Yantar science lab after you have shut down the psi-thingy.
