These messages may help others in similar troubles, so I think they should stay.
But about the patches; just click the link in the first post and read about the upcoming patches.

Sadly, my computer is too ancient to play the game. I reduced the resolution to 800x400 and it still is too jerky. I'll try tweaking other video options, but it looks like Stalker will have to wait until I upgrade.
In case you're wondering, my video card is probably the weak link (GeForce TI 4200), the minimum required for the game being 5700.

I'm not surprised, that Ti 4200 of yours is ancient. :erm:

Good suggestions for the patch.
Mostly I expect they slow down the respawning time, it's annoying how quickly the cleaned areas repopulate. Some parts of the Zone are so overcrowded that it somehow kills the mysterious atmosphere of that place for me.
Frankly said I expected STALKER to be more stealth oriented game where humans will be a more rare commodity, and my fights would focus on mutants and animals, but even though it has turned out to be more action oriented, it's a good FPS too. The game gave me some intense tactical firefights.
Now that I purchased some 5.56 rifles of western design, their accuracy is much better than of the AK47 design. They also make less racket.
Also I hope they'll work hard on fixing many subquests, I am tired of being assigned with the same "Protect this camp, clean out that camp" quests over and over again, everytime I enter the particular area with respawned bandits and Spetznaz.
Having only one day to accomplishing the sidequests is also tiresome.
Other aesthetic fixes are welcome, though not really vital.

Yeah, the sidequests are riddled with bugs... much like a lot of the game, I suppose. For instance if you've already completed the objectives of a quest at the time of acquiring it, you'll still be assigned it except without any possibility of completion - problems like this you'd have thought wouldn't have taken much more than a few conditionals in the game script.
There's apparently lots of unused terrain as well, only accessible by jumping out of the play area at a few points where there's inadequate blockage... why GSC chose to cut this out only they know. I hardly think players would be offended by extra ground, even if there was nothing more notable than the usual population of Stalker creatures there.

Right. Also they should fix repeated notes in NPC PDAs of the "I have forgot ammo in backpack over there" nature. If I find and loot that stash, its marker on the map should disappear. Not that I receive the same stash coordinates from dozen of NPC bodies after I have looted the stash...
TF on 10/4/2007 at 13:39
Also make stashes work even if you don't have the coords. I mean they're there and you can use them but there aren't any items inside until you get the coords, what the hell?

The respawning near the Garbage is ridiculous too. :erm:

Right, Garbage is full of human trash.
