Oh, I always encountered the object palette limit in Thief, and since SS2 seemed to have a palette for every texture, of which there are far more than 250 I assumed it had that limit removed, guess there is some palette sharing afterall.
Yup. If you start opening up the standard object textures, you'll notice there are very few that have their own optimized palette.

There seems to be a bug where the game consistently crashes without an error message when I enter the room on Deck 3 next to the chemical storeroom. To further clarify, the exact room with one oddly bugged monkey who is seemingly stuck in the ground and doesn't move or animate at all. There is also a security camera in the room, and a few footlockers, and some green water I think.
My guess is that seeing the monkey causes the crash, since I only got him on screen the first time, and every other try after that, it crashes before I spot him. Can anyone confirm this?
Hmm, only one other playtester encountered this one (ajare), but I thought i fixed that; I think I might have accidentally included an older version of the hydro map. Investigating.

I've just met that oddly-shaped monkey, and my game crashed out a few seconds later. Have to say so far I'm really enjoying the changes brought about by this mod. I like the silent cameras and gibbing a couple of hybrids with a grenade was fun. Haven't encountered any of the new weapons yet, but I'm assuming they're later in the game - though knowing me I've probably missed them! Everything seems nicely integrated into the SS2 experience. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the protocol droid running if damaged. I kind of like its slow persistant march towards you. Anyway many thanks for your work on this.:thumb:

Very strange. I could swear I had fixed that, and the hydro level seems to be up to date. It doesn't crash for me and it didn't for Spitter either when we multi'd it a few days ago.
Could it be a patch issue? Make sure you've got 2.23

Also, I can't get organs from Midwifes.
Sometimes turrets won't close properly when they have activated. They need another activation before they close.
Midwife organs issue fixed. Here's an (
http://chris.brabete.com/hur/shock2.gam) updated .gam
I didn't mess with the turrets' alertness settings at all.
I got inspired tonight and (
http://chris.brabete.com/hur/sec2.avi) further improved the security panel, when frobbed an invisible light point is created (later destroyed when the player moves away) which is placed in a way that makes it look as if the screen is emitting the light.

Wow - what an effort! I'm really excited to play this mod. Makes we want to leave school right now and dig in.
BTW, RTTUNN mod has a gamesys, but it''s called unn.gam so it won't be overwritten. :)

I also have 2.3 installed, as it came with the SS2 "Classic" edition.

This engine IS the Dark Engine. The only difference between the TDP version and the SS2 version is a few compile-time switches.
I didn't say it was completely different, I just said they were related. Maybe I should've said SS2's engine is the Dark engine's evil twin sister? ;)
