Read the melee-only pointers in hints and tips :cheeky:(the pipe hybrids are good practice now...although they still die easy now anyway) . Were them crystal hybrids fixed at all though? (i'm being chased by crystal sharks that can't hit me  ). Also where is the location of the hydro A card? (had to summon it after searching the place at least 5 times :( .

Melee only: tot
Hurrr, the crystal hybrids really should be fixed now, did you install everything in the first post? Hydro A card is in a backpack in front of the Section C door.

Hmm..guess i'm running an outdated version...oh well I guess I get something that does the exact same damage to me anyway (0dmg :p )...darn never notice a personal affects box there i'll check it when I go and recycle everything :cheeky: .

Frobber's "Oracle of the Prophets" has the entire level encased in a giant rotating sphere. Seemed to work well enough, though the rendering was a bit dodgy at times.
The Von Braun isn't spinning though, so you wouldn't want that effect. The real advantage, if it could be made to work, would be a higher-res starfield.

Yes that's pretty much it....but that could be done with particles right?
ZylonBane on 9/12/2005 at 18:01
I don't know if it's even possible to make a static particle field.
TF on 9/12/2005 at 18:05
It is.
ZylonBane on 9/12/2005 at 18:44
Neat. Still, not a viable solution as a skybox replacement, since there's various nebular stuff in the skybox too.
Although I am curious what it would look like to have a gigantic spherical particle effect encompassing an entire map.
Will particle fx render if they're outside the physical bounds of a map?

How can I edit the explosions to what they used to be? I'm currently been playing it on a computer which doesn't like to do these fancy explosions and lags a lot when fighting things like fusion bots, missile turrets, shodan, etc. (Shodan is too strong for wrench only so i'm going to play through normally but don't want these laggy explosions.

Just so we're clear and TF isn't inclined to make the effects too simple just for you, you aren't playing at the minimum system requirements on the SS2 box, are you? What are your system specs?
