That shouldn't happen if you've installed the mesh patch.

How many of your mod's features/improvements are plug and play? In other words what things can you pick and choose to copy over to system shock directory that don't require any piggybacking of other files. How much of the mod does not require a new gamesys to take effect?
TF on 24/11/2005 at 14:31
If you don't include the gamesys, you will get extremely little changes.
One thing that would work without the gamesys is the pipe and grenade hybrids having faster attack motions if you include motiondb.bin.
Kolya on 24/11/2005 at 21:00
Don't know if you know already, Zygoptera released some small changes to motiondb.bin with his (
http://www.strangebedfellows.schwarzsilber.de/index.php/topic,67.0.html) Random-Mod. He changed the way Midwifes couldn't hit you when you crouched and some other things he didn't specify. Just thought you might want to know.
We also discovered with this mod that Zombe's Modmanager is unable to copy the motiondb.bin over to the gamedir.

A custom script could be employed to check the player's Agility* attribute when the shuriken is created, maybe adding either a metaprop or a source scale based on its value.
- NV
* A throwing star's damage should definitely be based on Agility rather than Strength.
TF on 25/11/2005 at 09:49
Kolya: Yeah, I do know about that. That's why I borrowed that idea and added some altered midwife melee attacks to my own motiondb, in addition to speeding up some hybrid attack motions and stuff.
As for modmanager-ing, I suspected there were some problems about that. I'll make the final release Garrettloader compatible. Which is really just an archive with all the files and a readme in it. Easy to extract directly or to use with Garrettloader.
NV, that'd be quite cool, +15% damage per agility point sounds about right.

When you try to take Crystal Shard from those Crystal Shard wielding hybrids, game crashes.
Okay, boys. I have found out what causes that bug to happen.
It's the body count. Or I should say, object count.
Yes, I know that it sounds a bit odd, but I have to restart my gameplay again because of that.
It first occured in Command-level.

http://img336.imageshack.us/img336/401/dump0928lf.th.jpgAs you can see from above pictures, the cursor takes shape of security card and shortly after that game crashes. I thought that could be caused by buggy BrawnBoost implant which I have been carrying since from Engineering level.
Nope, it didn't cause that to happen.
Back at beginning levels I became bit bored so I set off alarm and started to butcher incoming hybrids. After killing quite a few hybrids I decided it was time to move on and loot their bodies. After entering to inventory mode I soon realized that I did have same oddly shaped cursor than in previous gameplay.
So, case closed.
My job is done here. Well, in this particular case, thought.
BTW. I do have latest updated gamesys. And Command Deck seems to be corrupted somehow.
It's only place in game where this bug happens instantly. Even if I open it directly in ShockED.

brain where were you when he beta tested this thing? :p
Womble on 25/11/2005 at 18:53
How exactly are you supposed to make the molecular grafter? I've tryed combining the ICE pick and the auto repair unit every way I could think of, but nothing happens.
TF on 25/11/2005 at 21:47
Oh shit, that bug. That one's scared me a bit too a while ago, it used to happen all the time in medsci when I played it through dromed. But it never happened to me in the actual game (full playthrough) so I dismissed it as a dromed-only nuisance.
I can't possibly figure out what causes it though.
Womble: The molecular grafter really should work, didn't anyone else get it to work?
