I keep getting this no matter what I search for
"The search term you specified (3) is under the minimum word length (2) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. "

Could you please provide an example of things you are searching for?

If you're using the number "3" as a search string, you won't get anywhere. Search terms have to be at least two characters.

He did say 'no matter what I search for', so I guess he should be using something other than '3' as search string. Either that, or when he searches for '3' a second time is perceived by him as something different from the first search for '3' ;)

Yeah, but if "3" shows up at all in the search query, that error will be returned. I just searched for 3 cheese factory and was told that (3) is too short a string.
I didn't even get partials for cheese and/or factory.

You can use exact text search to get around the restriction, by using quotes. For instance, search "thief 3" (with the quotes) then add any other keyword to refine the search.
However, no satisfying way to search for 3 cheese factory obviously :]

I got the same kind of message with and without quotes, for using the single digits 1 and 2 in my strings of search terms. The numbers were only two of at least five terms I used. An example of the different attempts would be: "Thief 1 2 into T3Ed", with and without quotes.

I tried
which brought some quite relevant results.

Yeah, I ended up getting what I wanted before I posted, but the quotes didn't change the error message. That's why I used that example. I would fully expect the message to say it didn't find anything, not tell me my search term was too small.
The search function seems to have been written in DromEd. :laff:
It works exactly as expected some times, and totally unexpected at others, with strange anamolies at random times. It works enough to keep using it, but when it doesn't--damn! I just use Google or Yahoo, etc., to get in the ballpark when that happens.
Try searching for "Jax"--a name that should pop up a few posts.

I'd like to add my $0.02...
It seems that the search will accept three letter words, but won't find any matches. I tried searching the Thief forums for both "fog" and "maw" and it told me there were no matches for either.
