I don't really have anything much to add, but Seb sure is growing up and looks like a happy lad! :)

You need to start shopping that little tyke around to talent agencies for TV commercials and whatnot. Money problems solved! :thumb:
Seriously though, at least talk to your GP about depression. There a lot of relatively mild meds available these days that do wonders.

So what next? Have you been stuck in an apparent hole like this and dug yourself out successfully?
About four times and always landed on my feet. I'm in the middle of the fifth time right now and things are starting to look up.
On a happier note, if you decide to kill yourself because of all this, I'd happily adopt that beautiful kid of yours. :thumb:

Yep, been there scumble. Still clawing my way up & out, as a matter of fact. SE has a good point; you need to set attainable goals, otherwise what do you have to strive for or look forward to? I try to go easy on myself with the timing of the goal, just in case I have a really shitty day or two and don't do a lick towards attaining said goal. And they don't all have to be biggies either. It's probably better to set some smaller goals at first and then work your way up. I guess, though, in order to have goals in the first place you'd need to sit down and really, really think hard about what it is you want out of your life right now and in the future.
Another thing that seems to help me is to consider how many people in this world are so very much worse off; it naturally kind of makes you turn around and want to start counting your blessings. I know it sounds corny, but considering all the good and positive things you have in your life really does help to improve a negative outlook. (That precious little cherub of yours would definitely be number 1 on your list of blessings!!!)
I'm kind of in the same situation as you regarding selling my home & land; except the reason I have to sell is because I can't really afford to continue living here forever. Even if the real estate market wasn't a buyer's dream right now, I still couldn't even consider putting my house up for sale because it needs so many serious repairs. And right now I can't afford those repairs. But I'm determined (& just a tad stubborn) and I know I can start making those repairs a little bit at a time and then by the time the market starts picking up again I'll be able to get a good (or at least better) price for this old place.
Once you're down in the doldrums it's a hard road out again. Most of it is attitude, I think; and changing a negative attitude can take time. When a lot of things start going wrong all at once or it seems there's more bad/negative aspects to your life than good/positive aspects, it's only natural to start getting a bit depressed. But if you're seriously concerned that you may be suffering from clinical depression, then yes, you need to consult with your doctor.
Try not to dwell on everything that seems wrong with your life and concentrate on those things that are right and good for starters. You're still young enough to make some serious changes and still come out on top. :thumb:

Actually I hear these days there's more money to be made secretly killing your children and then eliciting millions in donations from a sympathetic public.
To scumble: dude, you have a decent life - maybe you need to focus more on the positives and not the negatives. I think you're just a bit stressed. Life is full of these ups and downs. As soon as you finally sell your flat, I think your outlook will start to improve. Buying or selling property is one of the most stressful things you can do apparently. Ride out that rough patch fella.

I thought that was just a dumb theory made up by the Keystone Cops :p

Ok.
I will try to word this as carefully as possible so people don't think I am an overreacting person that is off his rocker or something... :cheeky:
I can see that people that have posted genuinely care and want to offer good advice.
Positive thinking and setting attainable goals are great things that everyone should do and are used as treatment for depression, but not all forms of depression respond to it completely.
Basically, if you think you have a serious form of depression, see a doctor and find out what the problem is. It may just be something that can be solved by changing your way of thinking, or it may require more than that, so don't self diagnose and then try to go from there on your own.
I'm not trying to be scary, just saying that it's something to be taken seriously. I've seen before people who thought they would just "hang in there" when that wasn't the solution to their problem, and they ended up worse off. See a professional, the solution might be an easy one but at least knowing for sure will save you potential trouble down the road.

scumble, your son is beyond beautiful, your pics have made me so broody.
I am sorry you are going through such a tough time.
I think that life is hard and dark and painful if you let yourself see that. But if you force yourself to see the good, your amazing son, your wife etc then you can cope with most anything. I try to choose to see the bright side of everything. "We've been robbed again, oh well they didn't take the car this time" etc.
Maybe it would help to talk about your worries with your wife? The 2 of you are in it together, and maybe just knowing she has your back will give you added motivation.
