Well, after a long time I return here...
A long time I had the problem that I have no more found my Thief disks, neither the one from Dark Project, nor the ones from Thief II, nor the Thief III disk - I bought them two or three times. (I know I'm a little bit chaotically.) So I could no more play the games.
So now I have bought a package via Steam that consitsts of:
Thief
Thief Gold
Thief 2
Thief: Deadly Shadows
At first I thought, that "Thief" means "Dark Project" (here responsed as T1). But it is something quite different. So can anyone tell me, which game that is? In this game I'm also Garrett, but there is another person, a woman who is also a thief.
Well, but now to my most urgent question:
As my old computers are defective, I now have another notebook. The problem now is that the screen of Thief Gold is only very small and the rest of the screen is black. When I start Thief Gold I get a system message that the recommended resolution is 1920 x 1080. However, in the options of Thief Gold I can only choose 640 x 486 or 800 x 600. The same problem is with Thief 2 (The Metal Age). The resolution is correct in "Thief: Deadly Shadows" (however there the mouse does not function correct) and in "Thief" (this one functions correct).
Besides, the same problem occurs with "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind"
How can I solve this problem? How can I activate full screen mode?
My system:
Acer Aspire ES1-533
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N42300 Q 1.10GHz
8 GB RAM (7,83 GB useable)
Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
Windows is installed on C: that has 816 GB free
The SteamLibrary is on E: - that has 85,6 GB free

At the very least I don't recommend playing the reboot before playing the original trilogy.
Thief Gold is the first game, it's very difficult to get Dark Project these days but Gold is the same game with patches, a few (somewhat controversial but don't worry about that too much) changes and some extra missions.
It goes Gold -> II -> Deadly Shadows. Then the reboot, if you do decide to play it.
Also as you noticed it happens with Morrowind too - again you should look into fan solutions for that. Try searching for Morrowind Code Patch and Morrowind Graphics Extender, or OpenMW. But you'll get more advice on a Morrowind board there.
As a general rule of thumb: If an Old Game doesn't work out the box, there's probably a fan patch.
