Had the house free for a couple of days so I thought I'd add my name to the list of countless individuals who have recorded themselves in their bedroom with little more than an acoustic guitar and their own fucking self-absorbed loneliness for comfort. :( And then, once I did it I thought I'd share it since it's no good sitting on my hard drive.
Since this is fairly off-the-cuff and a one-off (just 5 songs), I made a new myspace where hopefully you can listen at once ((
www.myspace.com/familyfriendly01)), fans and collectors can download a zip of mp3s from (
www.thedebtoffensive.com/family%20friendly2.zip) (this is not a band endeavour, I'm just using the webspace).
For anyone who speaks German, let me know how the pronounciation is on number 4. Because, I'm sure it'll be useful for all the songs in German I was planning on doing. :erm: I know the filename and tag is missing an umlaut, I'm too lazy to figure out how to get it. Much like I'm too lazy to go and fix the flat notes. No, but really I did it (pretty much) in whole takes so whatever, there's a few errors. I'm more interested in what (if anything) you think about the songs. Even the one I didn't write, but it's haunted me for years. Radiohead's Exit Music always makes me think of it. Same key, although I'm down a semitone for all except the last one.

Family Friendly is catchy, but I don't want to listen to songs about incest, because I can't relate

'Keep it in the family' was excellent because at first listen I felt awkward, then disturbed, and then I liked it, and now I have it stuck in my head.

Holy crap this is good stuff. I usually hate solo acoustic/singing songs, but I really like this.
