Oh man, Scots vernacular gets so fucking boring to read. The real joy is in hearing it spoken aloud.
Refer to Rab C. Nesbitt for further instruction.

We're not all Rob Roy, you know.

I love it when people react to hearing that I'm from Scotland, you can tell that they've got this impression of the accent (or at least, a variation on a grossly exaggerated stereotype) and I don't touch it at all. I have a slight twang but most people tend to think I'm Irish!
(And I am, really)

Yeah, we didn't once have to ask Scots to repeat what he'd just said. Which really does happen with some Scottish I've talked to. It gets a bit embarassing after the third time you've completely failed to understand them and you have to just smile and nod :/

This confirms my suspicions that Shug has a rum-induced hearing problem.

Oh man, some of the accents ARE impossible though. I've had to do what Iggles said on many an occasion, expecially when people start getting annoyed with you because it's the 4th time they've tried to tell you something. "I've fer tawld you the noo!" What? Understandable Scots accents are v. nice though, specially on the ladees.

And this makes me think of Cadfael.
Could somebody please bring me back to 2006? I'm lost in time. :(

I think I'm partially deaf, actually. There was only one time when I had no idea what you were saying despite hearing you clearly, the rest I do with everyone :D
