seriously read anything by Ian M Banks, it's all great. 'The Player of Games' and 'Use Of Weapons' are two of the best books of any kind I've ever read. If you want elaborate, elegant science fiction, with believable and highly developed characters, an incredibly rich universe and some very funny dialogue and concepts, I can highly recommend him. And they've just released a new edition of his books that don't have ugly covers, so go buy! If you read any of these books, I'm jealous. I wish I could blank my head and re-read them, especially Use of Weapons. Theres a plot-twist in it that has an almost physical impact.

Michael Marshall Smith writes the best science-fiction around. At least, in my opinion. Hot on his heels are Philip K. Dick and Richard K. Morgan.

Yes, watch the TV. It can't argue back with you, although I've seen you try...

Michael Moorcock's "Sailing to Utopia" is great.
