I followed (
http://udn.epicgames.com/Two/MatineeExample) this tutorial (very carefully of course, T3Ed is finicky with the scene manager) & the scene works!
The event name under PlayerStart doesn't work so I had to add a script:
Matinee>Scene01 to PlayerStart & rename the SceneManager Tag to Scene01 & I playtested it & the camera does what it's supposed to do!
Screenshots or Fraps movie coming soon: Better yet I'll include it with the FrankenThiefDemo.
EDIT:
I think I know why this wasn't implemented. When you're in 1st person mode Garrett loses his head. I haven't tested it with a regular T3 installation yet.

Intriguing. Very interested to see what you come up with.

I wish I could watch it, but RM is a crime against humanity!

Any chance of using that XP movie thingy to make it a WMV, so we don't have to install anything at all to see it? If not, no problem, just askin'.

NICE! That's an extremely cool discovery that will greatly add to the FM scene I predict! The posibilities... :thumb: :D :thumb: :D

So what exactly am I looking at? An in-game scenery video?

A scripted camera flight (matinee) that wasn't used in the game, but does work with T3Ed.

In-game cutscenes + camvator stuff = yay.
Has anyone tried playing with the facial expression stuff yet?

I tried using one of the conversations then building the scene from there. It came out pretty cool. I don't think there was facial expressions in that conversation though.
Also I'd like to know if you can control Garrett. He looks silly just standing there looking around during a scene.
