1.) Get Fortify Magicka spell and Restoration 75
2.) Make a Fortify Magicka 100/60 secs (or so) spell
3.) Make identical spell, but name it differently (for example, first spell "Mojo", second "Mojo 2"
4.) Cast first spell
5.) Cast second spell
6.) Make Mojo 3 - Mojo 500000 and watch your Magicka boost thru the roof
This prolly works with every fortify spell.
EDIT : Seems the spell duration of every spell you cast gets still separately counted, so natch for my "strong spell first then weak spell for upkeep" theory. The stacking still applies tho

nice find.

Is there no limit on how many spells can be active? I know there's a limit on how many potion effects can be active.

I don't think so.
You might be better off in the long run using fortify skill spells though. A skill maxes at 255, so you could reach that in 3 casts - and it will bring the mana cost of those 3k spells down to something much much more managable.

I have literally had at least a dozen spell effects going at one time, before.

Have you tested this?
I haven't seen benefit to raising spell-skills over 100.

No, I haven't tested it.

Tuco, have you seen any benefit to raising Blade at high levels? I raised mine to 112 (just one Transcendental Sigil Stone) and didn't see a rise in Umbra's attack (30).

That behaviour has also been observed on the official forum. Same with Strength above 100 not giving anything but added carrying capacity.
Skill level 100 and skill level 250 (plus anything inbetween) seem to perform the same for all skills I've been able to test. Attributes appear to give a skill bonus up to 100 and beyond that they only count for their non-skill application(s) such as Magicka recovery for Wisdom or Carry capacity for Strength.

For testing i boosted my Strength to somewhat around 200 and then a weapon skill to 210. Stuff died somewhat faster but imho the effect was very minute. Much more minute than a +700 Magicka increase :cheeky:
Gotta test if this works with Shield/Reflect/Absorp/Immunity Spells too. Theoretically should
