Woo, replacement drive on its way to me! Once it's actually in my hands and working, I'll phone them and ask about the rest of the out-of-pocket expenses.

Hi Matt
Speak to them now and apprise of them of the situation, you dont want it do go outside of the 7 or 14day period if you can help it.

The drive is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so I'll be calling them later in the day.

The new drive is a success! Wooo! I'm partitioning it now (one main and one tiddly 20 gig partition for possible Vista experimentation), then I'll call about the rest of the money on Monday.
Also, it turns out that one of my power cables was dodgy, so I had to replace it with a molex cable and SATA adaptor - but I'd tested the first drive with several cables anyway, so the problem wasn't just that.

coolies,
Remember what i said about speaking to OcUK, polite yet firm, explain the whole sage in detail. And make it abundantly clear you want the £25 charge, the postal charged all refunded along with the original purchase price.

Refund for their charge is in process, with my postage refund to follow.
Thanks for all the help on this one, Biker.
