And now I have fog. Thanks!
Still looks like shite compared to the Nvidia version but I prefer the Radeon's overall performance. Good thing I can easily live without fog in Thief.

Very slow videocard. Not good decision. In Russia we can by this card for 30$ ...As a computer advisor I can say Never buy video under the 100$. (I dont know your prices)
Low end NVIdia videos looks very poor In comparison with ATI Low-end. 'ts not good idea for buying GeForce.
Try Radeonator 2.0 for tweaking ATI. I have no problen with it in all ATI Cards.
Thief3 become a slideshow on this. but it compatible. Quote from Thief3 Readme: "

Can someone help me out here, I still cannot figure out how to get fog for this thing. I have been messing with it for a week; I even reverted back to catalyst 5.7.
I can see the Rage3D section in the Catalyst control center, yet this section called "Direct 3d" does not seem to exist. Where am I supposed to look for this? I changed the skins, that didnt do anything.
I have Rage3D open and all it has is: Overclocking, OC Testing, and Game Utils. None of those 3 have anything with "Direct 3d" in them.

..the easiest way is probably (
http://www28.brinkster.com/chrisww1942/) radlinker.install,go to d3d settings (rightmouseclick on your desktop, select radlinker and you are there),unselect w-fog and it should work.it has worked fine for me,and I was not able to fix it with rage3d tweak..

I installed Rage3D Tweak 3.1e to get fog in "Thief II" with a Radeon 9550. This was successful. I had to use an old version of Rage3D tweak because newer ones won't run on Windows 98 SE which I'm using.
I was curious. There were some hints that Rage3D Tweak just changed something in the Windows registry, so I compared two .reg files created by regedit. The result was quite unexpected.
Apparently, Rage3D Tweak created a suspicious registry key:
"UninstallString"="R3DUnst.exe Uninstall and format hard drive, install viruses, wipe bios."
This key is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\RegTweak .
I searched for viruses with AdAware and F-Prot but found nothing. I found Version 3.1e of Rage3D Tweak on a computer magazine's CD which is about three years old; I guess the virus scanners should know such a virus by now. There has been no suspicious behaviour of the system so far.
Google found only one site mentioning this registry key, but unfortunately it's a Japanese site. Since I don't speak or read Japanese, I don't know what this site tells us about this registry key.
I guess it's just a bad joke, but does anyone else know anything about this registry key? Has anyone found this key in the registry as well?

I have a few questions about Rage3D Tweak. I'm having a AMD Athlon 3 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600pro video card and the latest ATI drivers (version 5.10) installed.
Today I downloaded 'Rage3DTweakCCC v1.1 Cat5.10' from (
http://www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/). When I tried to install the program a small screen appeared with the text: ATI CCC not installed. I'm constantly getting the same screen so I'm unable to install the program.
On the ATI site ((
http://www.ati.com) http://www.ati.comare two drivers to choose from: The driver with Control Panel (25 mb) and the driver with Catalyst Control Center (33 mb). I have the first driver, 25 mb version, installed, because the Catalyst version doesnt work on my computer and causes a lot of trouble :( . It seems that the only way to get Rage3D Tweak is to install the Catayst (CCC) version, which I cant use :grr:
Does someone know if there's a version of the program available that also works with the 25 mb ATI Driver?
I tried earlier to get Rage3D Tweak installed on my computer, but then I downloaded an older version of the program, Rage3D Tweak 3.9, which can be found at (
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=391). Is this version compatible with the latest drivers (5.10) or do I really need Rage3D TweakCCC v1.1 these days?
Also I would like to know in which directory I should install the 3.9 version. During the setup you are asked to select the directory you wish the program to be installed. What map must I choose? ATI or something? I have no idea
The fog problem with ATI is driving me mad. After so many fogless years I really want to have it back. The original missions and fanmissions are just so less enjoyable without it. Any help or information would be really appreciated :erg:

Chuck Rage3D. I'm using (
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733) Ati Traytools, and it's got
FAR more options. Plus, it works with the newer drivers.
Has an integrated auto-overclocker, which will throttle the card up for 3D, and down for 2D. It's also got a little Atitool overclocker, that will find your max gpu/mem speeds. You can load profiles very easy, and there are a hundred different registry tweaks. You can also adjust memory timings.
Overall, Tray Tools is the most versatile Ati tool.

I have .NET Framework installed so that can't be the problem :(

Well if it can bring back the fog I'll check that program out. Thanks.
