It's true, I may have been a trifle terse. Sorry 'bout that.
I would like a LotP with fog. Unwelcome Guest (the demo mission) has a light touch of fog that works really great. Clearly the brush work there didn't survive the extensive changes the mission had. Pity. (If there's an OM I'd like to see replaced, I'd like to see Unwelcome Guest reinstated somehow, ior at least its precarious roof adventures put back into LotP somehow).
I believe Emil when he says it doesn't work (shipped with it or not) it's not just the effect on the lighting, there's weird blotches and places where it drops out entirely for no apparent reason.

1) It's Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. It's the third in the series. So it's referred to as Jedi Knight III.
2) Runs Bitchin-A on my Radeon9800pro. I turn off dynamic glow, but so does everyone else that's not running at 800x600. The screams get to me every now and then. I always play with the dismemberment on high.
3) Teh Fog! It werks now. Gracias!
4) I agree on the fog-at-night thing. I think it's just pulling in so much city glow, that it lights up areas. If you've ever been in heavy fog in the city, it tends to do this.

i just found out something cool:
for those who follow the directions and STILL cant get it to work with rage3dtweak, DO THIS: Make sure the box is green, not red, AND is also checked (or unchecked)
do the same thing over and over (selecting and desleecting the fog options that you need.)
you see, if the option you want has a red box around it, even if it is checked, it will not work. It looks like you have set it up, but you havent. (red box around your option means that Rage has not overriden the value for that, and it is still at default even if it APPEARS checked) You must change it to a green box, then click apply, then make sure it is checked or unchecked (according to the directions)... then click apply again.
i think the reason is that sometimes there is a check in the box even if rage3d has not in fact selected that option. This may happen if you install new drivers, but rage3d has been set otherwise... and it will have a red box to show that something is overriding the rage setting.

Just to let you know that after downloading Rage3DTweak (I have a 7500) and following the instructions, Thief was an absolute disaster after the reboot - v slow, stuck on menu screen, jerky mouse, had to close it with Task Manager. Following a second reboot all was fine and I have fog.
Looking back through this thread I see that I'm not alone in this experience. So, if it is horrible the first time, reboot a second time - this may well fix it.

i dl'd the tweak and it tells me to go under the "rage 3d tweak tab and scroll down to.... OH wait all i see is a black box and i can do NOTHING on this tab! LAME!

Yep, I have the exact same problem with my 9800 Pro. I installed Rage3DTweak and all the tabs function except for that one which is just a black featureless box. I uninstalled and re-installed from a fresh download with no difference. Luckily I'm not a fan of fog in Thief so it doesn't bug me much.
I'm not sure which version of Catalyst I'm using but I've updated within the last 5 months.

well i just emailed Rage3d's site's Tech team to hopefully have an answer for the 9800 pro. One thought maybe if you get your hands on an older version of tweak 3d. It more than likely won't work but you never know..... what have you got to lose? other that a few MB of slack space

My only precaution is to warn you about the "Nvidia ugly sky" vs "ATI ugly fog" debate. You pick the one that you care about the most... Personally, I prefer a pretty sky over fog(since far more missions have a sky than have fog - only 2 OM's in Thief2 have fog, and one of them is buggy....) I do believe that the FX5200 will play theif3, though with less than sterling performance. If you plan on doing editing with T3ed, you'll be glad to have an Nvidia card, since Radeon owners seem to have more trouble by default(They can certainly still use it, but have to use various "tricks" to keep it from crashing)
