Someone with an old and far inferior card (nVidia TNT2 w/32 MB SDRAM) would have fog working like a charm while those with the super flashy ATi cards have only been able to fix it now? That, my friends, is irony indeed :D.
But wait, now I'm here with the inferior card waiting for Thief III, and no money for upgrades!! More irony! (well, not irony actually, just tol [taff out of luck]!!)
Bah, I hate my crap HP Pavilion!

Keep in mind you my have to restart your computer before the changes take effect.
If you have any other problem related to Thief feel free to post them at TTLG.
If you are having any problems related to your computer which does not revolve around anything TTLG related feel free to head over to (

p7eter said it didn't work when he updated DirectX so I was curious. The fog in T2 is related to Thief isn't it?

I tried this (check table and Z/ uncheck W) on my 9500 Pro and XP.
Does not work. As soon as I start to move forward into fog, in mission, computer crashes and reboots
In addition, I start a mission with fog (Dwelling Insanity), and with W on, I can actually see the fog, but as soon as I move forward, into the fog, my computer crashes, over and over againn. Without W on, I see nothing...no fog, and it still crashes. I have disabled hyperthreading
Has anyone gotten it to work with my specs? Am I doing anything wrong? IS there an extra step in my case. I believe I also have DX9 on this computer
thansk

Have you tried running the game with fog turned off in the Thief 2 options menu?
That would give an indication of whether it was the fog that was causing your PC to crash or not.

Hmmm, something weird is going on. NONE of my FM work anymore. They did before I installed the tweak program, althou I got no fog (which I could live with)
I have now uninstalled 3D tweak.
I went into another FM and as soon as I started moving, I crashed and rebooted. And this was when I turned fogging OFF in the Thief options menu.
Strange!

I'm back again:
Well, no Thief FM work (they all use to work), as soon as I begin to move, the CPU crashes and reboots. And I turned Fog OFF. I have uninstalled the tweak program.
I have checked other games and so far, NOLF, HL and SS2 all work perfectly fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions, David?
I am not sure what to do next (did i mention that hyperthreading has been disabled already)
