I could play Deus Ex like normal a little while ago and the only things Ive installed on my computer since Deus Ex was Steam and Half-Life 2.
Now if I play for like 30 minutes the game freezes along with my computer. This does not happen with my other games just this one. I messed with basically everything in the settings area, but that did not fix it.
Windows XP Home SP2
GeForce FX 5200
1024 mb of RAM
AMD Anthlon XP 1500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.3GHz

make sure the steam virus is not running in the background.other than that,you should check your system for all other viruses and spyware..does the game freeze in software mode too?

..yeah.the game has a software renderer.change your 3d video device to software rendering (either from the game main menu/display or run the safemode),and see if the freezes again..anyway,have you tried reinstalling deus ex?

Well I tried software rendering... it was lagging in the friggin menus I didnt want to even think about how it was in game. ;_;
